The International Foundation for Gender Education (IFGE) announces Grassroots Political Institute

The International Foundation for Gender Education (IFGE) invites all activists and community leaders to participate in a Grassroots Political Institute on Wednesday, February 4th at the IFGE 2009 Conference in metro Washington DC.

Waltham, MA & Washington, D.C. – The International Foundation for Gender Education (IFGE) invites all activists and community leaders to participate in a Grassroots Political Institute on Wednesday, February 4th at  the IFGE 2009 Conference in metro Washington DC. The Grassroots Political Institute is a free, day long pre-conference event comprised of workshops dealing with the past, present, and future of the transgender community, and how we can empower our community to take control of our own struggle for civil rights. The institute will be led by Ethan St. Pierre, in conjunction with Lisa Mottet, Marti Abernathy, and Mara Keisling. Everyone is invited to attend this event; sessions begin at 9:30 and run through the afternoon.

IFGE 2009 is our 23rd annual conference, and is being produced in conjunction with the Transgender Education Association (TGEA) of Greater Washington, D.C., The event will be held at the Hilton Mark Plaza Hotel in Alexandria, Virginia, February 4 – 8, 2009.
