Orange County, CA - TRAUMA INTERVENTION PROGRAMS, INC. (TIP) is looking for caring people willing to be part of a team of citizen volunteers trained to provide emotional and practical support to the victims of traumatic events. These modern-day Good Samaritans will be called to emergency scenes by emergency response personnel to:
• Provide emotional and practical support to those who have been robbed, burglarized, or assaulted
• Comfort families after the death or sudden illness of a loved one
• Help disoriented older persons
• Support survivors of a suicide
• Help emotionally traumatized victims of accidents
• Help those emotionally shaken by any crisis event
RIGHT NOW, we are in the process of recruiting volunteers to work in your area! We need citizens willing to be trained as crisis responders in Orange County. No experience is necessary.
You are encouraged to attend the first night of training to discover if you are interested in becoming a volunteer. If you decide to complete the program, you will receive over 35 hours of training to be a TIP volunteer.

TIP Volunteer Winter 2009 training will be nights and weekends February 19 to February 28. The Autumn 2009 training is from September 10 to September 19.
Bilingual volunteers are needed and anyone fluent in a language other than English is encouraged to apply, including but not limited to Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, and ASL. Teens and Senior Citizens also encouraged to apply.
