Birch Street Systems, Inc., a leading provider of hospitality industry e-procurement and back office automation solutions, today announced that it has appointed yet another well-known hotel industry veteran to its executive ranks: David Chestler has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing. This appointment comes on the heels of last month’s announcement of John F. Davis III joining the company as Chief Executive Officer. Launched in 2002 and headquartered in Newport Beach, California, Birch Street‘s Web-based systems are used by more than 1,800 hotels in more than 25 countries.
Chestler brings nearly two decades of hotel industry sales experience to Birch Street Systems. His background includes managing sales at three well-known hotel technology providers: Pegasus Solutions, Utell International, and Visual Data Corp. Most recently, he was Senior Vice President of Corporate Business Development for Pegasus Solutions, where he managed global sales for more than six years. While with Pegasus he was responsible for approximately 50 percent of the company’s revenues, managing large hotel reservations contracts and complicated partnerships with major travel distribution players such as Expedia and Priceline. Working closely with Pegasus Solutions’ former CEO John Davis, Chestler played a critical role in supporting Pegasus’ global expansion.
