We, the undersigned, wish to communicate to you our deep opposition to the prospect of Coach Ferentz leaving the University of Iowa for a job in the NFL. Without denying his tremendous value as an NFL coach, and the many positive accomplishments the University of Iowa football program has had both on and off the field in his, we nonetheless believe that it is necessary to voice our opinion of how we cannot afford to let Coach Ferentz, and his staff, leave our beloved state.
In a year filled with so much doom and gloom from the historic floods and faulting economy, Kirk Ferentz delivered one of the most memorable football seasons in school history. His efforts and dedication to the University and State of Iowa have been greatly appreciated by the Hawkeye Nation, and he deserves a tremendous amount of praise, gratitude, and respect from us all.
