FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Jan 13, 2009 – A recently developed formula stemming from the latest research in neuroscience is now available internationally to combat the deleterious effects of brain aging and cognitive deterioration.

Alzenia is designed to work alongside popular Alzheimer's and anti-dementia medications including donepezil (Aricept®), memantine (Namenda®), galantamine (Razadyne® and Memeron®), and rivastigmine (Exelon®).  Alzenia may also be used as a conjunctive therapeutic addition to various combination therapies.

The primary components of the new anti-aging formula of Alzenia have recently received considerable attention by brain researchers worldwide.  A clinical study of Huperzine A for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease by the National Institutes of Aging (NIA) is near completion.  An additional study by researchers at Harvard University is ongoing to evaluate the effectiveness of Huperzine A for various neurodegenerative disorders.  Huperzine A is showing promise in the elimination of beta amyloid plaques that form in the brain due to aging.

More recently, neurological researchers have found that Coconut Oil and medium chain triglycerides (or MCTs), are effective at assisting the brain metabolize glucose- an essential  component of healthy brain functions.  Alzenia contains a shelf-stable form of Coconut Oil as Coconut Milk Powder that has additional anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties.

A primary component of the Alzenia formula is resveratrol.  Extracted from the skins of red grapes and Japanese knotweed, resveratrol is a recent subject of research at Cornell University (2008) where neuroscientists found that resveratrol significantly reduced beta amyloid plaque build-up seen on brain scans of patients suffering from neurological conditions often characterized by diminishing cognitive function.

Alzenia also contains an especially potent form of curcumin.  Curcuminoids, the active derivatives of curcumin, exhibit anti-inflammatory properties in the brain and may also help prevent the process of apoptosis or programmed cell death.

Additional components of Alzenia include cinnamon, green tea extract, and spirulina.  The micro-algae spirulina is an exceptional source of proteins essential for mental functions and DHA- a fatty acid of particular importance for healthy brain development.
