PRLog (Press Release) -
Jan 12, 2009 -
New York City-based alternative weekly The L Magazine recently launched “Listicles,”
a new blog that aggregates lists from across the web and adds tons of new ones to the mix. The best and funniest lists are highlighted on Listicles (http://listicles.com):
the most popular music, the most underrated television, everything has its place in someone’s top 10 or top 5.
Nobody’s sure of the origins of the word “listicle”
(though blogs like Gawker and Lifehacker use the term frequently); it’s simply a list that functions as an article and it’s arguably the most easily-digestable and fun-to-read format on the internet.
Listicles plans to offer readers the chance to contribute links to their favorite lists--other readers may vote on the best of the bunch. The most popular will be featured on the Listicles homepage every week.
The L Magazine is a free alternative weekly with a bimonthly distribution of 30,000 issues in New York City.
