iPod is popular more and more, but I found a lot of users still don't know how to put a DVD on iPod. Every day you may find many persons are asking the same question. So, I decided to write this guide to help them.
iPod, even if the latest iPod touch and iPhone can't play DVD-video format directly. That means you should use another software to convert your DVD to the format which they can support. By searching the specification of iPod, it's easy to know that iPod supports MPEG-4 format well. Now, what we need is to convert the DVD to .mp4 file. As far as I known, Ideal DVD to iPod Converter is the simplest and great program. You may download it from http://www.idealdvdcopy.com/
1) Run Ideal DVD to iPod Converter
2) Insert a DVD to your DVD drive.
3) Choose a proper title, audio track and subtitle from the title list form.
4) Choose a proper profile, usually the default profile "iPod perfect quality (MPEG-4,.mp4)"
5) Click "Go" to start rip.
After ripping, you will get a .mp4 file on your computer, then you need use your iTunes to transfer the .mp4 file to your iPod. You may run iTunes then click "File"->"Add File to Library...." to choose the .mp4 file, and then drag the movie you just added to the iPod icon. If you're using the old version of iTunes, you need click "File"->"Update iPod" to sync your iPod.
