Jan. 11, 2009 - PRLog -- Natural Systems, a 15 year old company based in Santa Barbara, CA , is releasing a new wastewater treatment system called Zero-D for truck washing facilities that completely eliminates the need for disposal and associated fees and allows reuse of this waste water within the facility.

CEO James Smallwood says, “Truck washing facilities will now be able to treat and reuse their dirty wash down wastewater instead of having to discharge it, eliminating discharge fees and permit requirements forever”

The Zero-D wastewater treatment and recycling system uses a proven and highly effective non-chemical electro-coagulation method combined with a filtration system that eliminates heavy metals, oil and grease, TSS, COD, BOD, TDS, and other contaminants.

One of the primary components of the system is a specially designed Electrocoagulation unit, a technology that uses electricity to “shock” the waste water, breaking molecular bonds that bind contaminants to the H2O, allowing easy filtration and producing clean water for reuse.

“A further benefit for truck washes” says Smallwood”, is that this process removes the calcium and minerals and acts as a water softener. Therefore, facilities using this system can also eliminate the need for water softeners, another big savings for them.”

The operation of the Zero-D system is simple and effective and the removal process can cost as little as $0.25 cents per 1,000 gallons. Companies like Chevron, Haliburton, and Valley Power in Bakersfield have been using this method for over 10 years now to treat and reuse their shop and truck wash down wastewater, saving them up to $70,000 per year. The other companies who have installed similar systems over the past 10 years include BART, Ahern Rental, Sear’s Distribution Center, Brashear’s Auto Auction, and Michigain CAT.

Smallwood concludes, “Zero-D is a one-of-a-kind simple, reliable, and effective system which not only increases net income for truck wash facilities, but will continue to give them years of worry-free treatment and peace of mind.”
