It seemed to Fournier that everyone had a voice but the animals who were being affected by these changes. So the theory proposed was, "What if these animals could talk and reason? What if they were given a voice to express their disapproval?
So with NUKE ANTARCTICA, that's exactly what they did. Together a league of penguins, polar bears, and walrus team up to bring anarchy to the world of humans by hijacking a nuclear bomb, blowing up Antarctica, and flooding the world to start over. The scenario is full of propaganda, recruitment, back alley organization, all reminscent of cold war politics, complete with regalia, banners, and icons.
The tongue-in-cheek ipso facto machinations of the evil penguins as they follow their walrus dictator are the comic root of this farce. Full of dramatic irony, senseless nihilism, and unlikely plots of anarchy, these fauna are destined to capture the skate culture by storm.
To develop this concept which began on theme paper and bar napkins, Fournier sought out the help of an experienced Charlotte Design firm with a background in not only cartooning, but web design, apparel design, and fashion marketing. No one fit the bill as closely but ** Jay Antonic and his firm UNTHINKIT.COM.
Focused on creating unique branding statements, Antonic seized the opportunity to work with Fournier. Said Antonic, "The concept has limitless possibilities. It's the Dreamworks Madagascar, Manga Esque Hyperbole, and Communo-Fascist Hyperbole all wrapped up into one crazy story. Icons, skateboards, t-shirts... an endless merchandise stream is possible. As more storylines are developed and sub plots introduced the scenario grows like Pokemon. So what happens when they finally do take over the world and Nuke Antarctica? Civil War, Factions, Penguins Rising against Walrus? As a concept, nukeant is well developed and has strong potential for pop-culture longevity through inroads into skateboarding youth."
