Lincoln, Neb. – To position the company for future growth and better meet the needs of existing customers, Lincoln Industries has completed the largest expansion project in company history. This new 86,000 square feet of space includes 49,500 square feet of warehouse space, 3,500 square feet of office space and 33,000 square feet for production.
“We broke ground on this new space in 2007 knowing that even with the slowdown in the economy, we have strong plans for new customers and opportunities over the next several years,” said Lincoln Industries President Hank Orme.
Director of Materials Management and Customer Service Bill Ellerbee explains how the addition will improve customer service. “As we continue to grow, the new space allows Lincoln Industries to maintain its record of providing exceptional service to our customers,” said Ellerbee. “First, all of our finished goods inventory is now under one roof greatly simplifying materials moves and transactions. Second, we have increased the number of bays for shipping and receiving product.
“With finished goods in one location, we can continue to provide consistent lead times and quick response times,” said Ellerbee. “With the growth Lincoln Industries has seen over the years, it was important to have all product at the main campus.”
Trucking companies, suppliers and customers with their own trucks will also benefit. With the expansion, Lincoln Industries increased the number of shipping bays from five to ten; the number of receiving bays increased from three to five.
This is the second major expansion in the last four years on the company’s 30-acre campus. In 2005, Lincoln Industries added 50,000 square feet for warehouse and manufacturing space.
Lincoln Industries, founded in 1952, is a diversified supplier of specialty metal products. The company serves many industries including power sports, heavy duty trucking, automotive and agriculture. To learn more about Lincoln Industries, visit the website at www.lincolnindustries.com.
