Then one day Clayton’s life becomes very extraordinary indeed.
The King Tut exhibit comes to the local museum and Clayton is one of the first to check out the legendary king’s priceless artifacts. Clayton manages to wander off alone and imagines touring the show with the King himself.
Without warning, Clayton feels a presence beside him and turns to find King Tut right there, with a smile and an invitation, “Come, let’s walk.” What happens next takes Clayton on a wondrous and magical journey. The King and he discuss what it’s like to be a teenager in modern day and in the Golden Days of the Pharaoh. Were there bullies then? Were there religious differences, world hunger, wars?
What Clayton learns from his mysterious friend is the more things change, the more they stay the same and Tut challenges Clayton to make a difference.
Clayton does, in so many ways, and in doing so, finds himself full circle when he returns one day to the same museum with his own children and once again, revisits an old friend.
