CoverBonanza.com First to Offer Environmentally-Friendly Furniture Covers

Jan. 8, 2009 - PRLog -- CoverBonanza.com is the first online retailer to offer the new ECO line of 'green' patio furniture covers for sale to the public.  The covers, made by Classic Accessories, feature a number of qualities that make them more environmentally-friendly.  One major advance Classic Accessories has made with the ECO line is the elimination of PVC (Poly-Vinyl Chloride) from the manufacturing process without sacrificing durability or moisture-resistance.  PVC is extremely destructive to the environment due to the chlorine that can leach out as it degrades, and is also dangerous to work with in the manufacturing process.
The ECO line also helps the environment by using 100% recycled materials in its construction.  The fabric is basically made entirely of recycled plastic bottles, replacing the petroleum-derived polyester that is used in most cover applications.  This quality should appeal to those looking to reduce landfill usage and also reduce their consumption of products directly dependent on the petro-chemical industry.  
As an added touch, the covers even come with a re-usable shopping bag in place of the normal plastic packaging, hoping to reduce consumers' use of plastic and paper bags at the supermarket.  Expect other manufacturers to follow suit on this feature, turning landfill-stuffing wrapping into useful, reusable bags and sacks.
