Shade Systems, in cooperation with local distributor Arkoma Playgrounds and Supply, is proud to announce it has provided 22 shade structures for the City of Benton Parks and Recreation department in Benton, Arkansas. The project was a joint effort between the City of Benton Park Commission and Arkansas Parks and Tourism.
The City selected Shade Systems innovative Single Cantilever shade structures, which were installed over bleachers with the dual purpose of providing protection from the damaging effects of the sun’s harmful ultraviolent rays, as well as foul ball protection since stray balls from the adjacent baseball fields simply bounce off the tensioned structures’ fabric.
Additionally, Curtis McCormack, Director of Parks and Recreation, sought shade for two complete playground structures at the youth baseball and adult softball complexes. Besides providing shade for public safety, the City of Benton wanted to protect their residents and visitors from foul balls while visiting their sporting complexes.
Providing shade for residents is very important to the City of Benton. The dramatic reduction of dangerous sun exposure in public areas was a very important benefit to Mr. McCormack and the City of Benton, and Shade Systems products provided the solutions. This project was completed to the complete satisfaction of the Parks and Recreation department as well as local residents and visitors who are enjoying the benefits of shade in their outdoor sports complexes.
