My Dad had owned a Brick & Mortar Busines for almost 40 Years. He was a Successful Businessman. So when I deceided to start a Home Based Business I was prepared to spend money and time Building my Business.
The reason I wanted a home based busines was to stay home with my children and make money.
About 6 weeks into my first Home Based Business I realized I needed so additional training that my Sponsor wasn't giving me. First it was a Buisness and I knew from my Dad that he had start up costs before he made profit. However;
Althought I never started a "brick and motar" business I was self employed almost my entire working career and loved it. Now I as I entered the Home Based Business Industry I figured I should be sponsoring people with an Entreprenurial "Mindset"
So imagine my sense of confusion when my Sponsor gave me a "memory jogger" list, told me to talk to everyone within 3 feet of me, talk to my friends and family about joining or being customers and lastly told me to advertise it as "WORK FROM HOME."
Now she was doing well in this company and I thought Ok she must know something I don't about this Industry. However;
What I didn't mention earlier is that my Dad had 5 Brothers and all of them had their own Business. Now I knew they weren't in Jobs as a matter of fact they told me to get my Education for Education's sake but become "self employed".
The majority of people I grew up with had jobs and nothing wrong with a job if that is what you desire. But why would I promote a Business Opportunity as a job. It seemed to me like I had to sell them on the idea of why a business was better than a job. Now me when I went searching the internet for a home based business I wanted a business not a job.
In 30 days I achieved the first promotion or pin level. It gave me a $500 Bonus and I just figured the people I was sponsoring would want to do the same. Now remember I was promoting it as "Work From Home" and taught to dare I say it confuse or sell people into joining a business.
After 6 weeks and setting up a work schedule with the people I sponsored it became clear to me they really had a "job" mentality. My sponsor, who barely even answered an im told me you get more leads if you advertise it as work from home and eventually if you go through enough people 10% will stick. WHAT I thought so she expects me to take money from 90% of the people I personally sponsored and know they would quit.
This didn't seem right to me and I came across a Mentoring Course that showed me how to get Qualified Leads. People who wanted to be in a Business and not a JOB.
So we know these "Old" Techniques work but I believe it gives this Industry a "Bad" Name.
