This is the 6th Teachers’ Choice Award bestowed upon Sundance/Newbridge over the last 5 years. Newbridge Educational Publishing’s differentiated instruction program, Early Science, allows educators in grades K–3 to teach the same science concepts at three different levels of reading difficulty. The program offers 56 units, covering a balance of Life, Earth, and Physical Science standards. The availability of student books for below-, on-, and above-level readers ensures that all students have access to the same core content. Ancillary materials such as Audio CDs and Photo Cards offer further learning opportunities for students with varied learning styles and ability levels. Paul Konowitch, Sundance/Newbridge’ Learning Magazine introduced the Teachers’ Choice Awards program in 1994. The program has grown to become one of the most recognized and prestigious awards in the educational market. For the 15th annual program, 71 winners were chosen based on their scores from the evaluations completed by a panel of teachers across the country. Early Science is included in the January 2009 issue of Learning Magazine as part of a spotlight feature of all Teachers’ Choice Award winners.
