Jan. 15, 2009 - PRLog -- The current trend towards “Pet Friendly” hotels is no surprise to the owners and management of the Engleside Inn located within the historic shore resort town of Beach Haven. Since the 72 room motel opened in 1964, it has maintained a pet friendly philosophy.
“We have always believed that pets are part of the family and should enjoy vacation too”, states John Hillman, owner of the property. The majority of the Engleside pet guests are dogs; however they have had their share of beach bumming cats and birds.

Dogs usually visit the motel for some down time with their owners, but the property caters to more than just the pampered pooch, it also welcomes the working dog. When the ATF does training in this area, they stay at the Engleside. The staff has also checked in “enlisted” dogs from the US Army while they were training in Surf City.

The Engleside Inn pet policy is in effect from mid September to mid May when pets are welcome for a minimal charge. The property does offer two night specials, such as the one featured during Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce’s Chocolate Week, which the pets stay for free. Of course, service dogs are welcome year round at no charge.

Engleside Inn lists two canine companions on its staff, lucky dogs Max and Babs can be found either lounging around the office or strolling through Bicentennial Park directly across for the motel throughout the day. Max, Babs and the entire Engleside family look forward to welcoming pet guests and their valentine owners for an ocean side retreat this February.
