Mari's lead single, “Hunt for You” received more than favorable responses on You Tube and other popular blog sites. “Hunt for You” is a feel good, radio friendly track about being in a relationship with a guy who begins changing and the female is on the hunt for the person they fell in love with. The single features Pleasure P formally of the R&B group Pretty Ricky. “I have been through a lot and I have grown as an artist and as a women, I finally feel like I'm connecting to my audience", concludes Mari. Teairra Mari’s album is slated to be released early March 09.’

Teairra Mari Thomas was born on December 2, 1987, in Detroit, Michigan. The beautiful and talented R&B singer displayed her love for performing at an early age, singing for family and friends; her first public performance was in a 5th grade talent show. At just the age of 12, Teairra Mari started recording rough demos in her cousin's basement, and even scored a hit at local radio! Just four years later, Teairra Mari's demo landed on the desk of Island Def Jam Group Chairman, Antonio "L.A." Reid. He signed the then 16-year-old singer on the spot at a brief meeting where she performed for him live. Teairra Mari's project became the first collaboration with the newly-crowned President of Def Jam Records, Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter. Jay-Z and L.A. Reid recruited hit-making songwriter Sean Garrett ("Lose My Breath"; "Goodies"; "Yeah!") to help translate Teairra Marí's innermost thoughts and emotions into lyrics. Teairra Mari's very first single, "Make Her Feel Good", went to 9* on the Urban charts and Top 15 on the Rhythm charts. In 2005 her debut album, released on Def Jam Records/ Roc-A-Fella Records, bowed at 2 at Urban & Top 5 at Pop. Teairra Mari was now "The Princess of the Roc"! Now its three years later, and this young Detroit native is back on the music scene in a big way. This time Teairra Mari is working with Cudda Love of Fo' Reel Entertainment, the company that discovered and signed Grammy Award-winning rapper Nelly.
