BORDENTOWN, N.J. – Prince Sports is proud to announce a strategic partnership with Tencap Tennis to deliver a dedicated social networking and performance and tracking site for players and coaches around the world beginning in 2009.
For the first stage in the new partnership, Prince will work to utilize Tencap Tennis’s technology platform for its growing, international Prince Plugged In (PPI) junior development program.
The PPI program, launched four years ago, was designed to unite high level training centers across the United States so up-and-coming junior level players could gain team-based competitive experience through the PPI Challenge Cups. Ken Merritt, Prince’s Director of Teaching Programs, said, “PPI is a ground-breaking platform in terms of junior development that continues to grow internationally. With more than 40 academies worldwide now participating, we are proud to layer in a ground-breaking training and networking technology to allow us to manage tournament scores and data and let players and coaches connect and communicate with one another. Whether it is product or programs, our goal is to continue to lead the sport with fresh, forward thinking initiatives and partner with companies who help us achieve that goal.”

The official release of the new site is scheduled before the next PPI Challenge Cup event set for March, 2009. Steve Timperley, chief executive officer of Tencap Tennis, believes the introduction of Tencap Tennis and its capabilities will greatly enhance PPI events. “The juniors playing in the PPI Events are the future stars of the game who are representing some of the most elite tennis academies and training facilities around the world,” said Timperley. “At that level, there is a true passion for the sport, so it makes sense to offer these players and coaches advanced technologies that not only help players connect, but also track their performance and results in the tournaments and on the practice court.”
Scores from the most recent PPI Challenge Cup XII which took place in early December at the IMG/Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Bradenton, Florida will be entered into the site to begin tracking player results.
