Joel Naroff, President of Naroff Economic Advisors and Chief Economist for TD Bank will be the keynote speaker at the Eastern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce's (EMACC) 81st Annual Meeting on January 27th at the Shadowbrook Restaurant, Shrewsbury. Mr. Naroff recently received the 2008 Lawrence R. Klein Award from the Nobel Prize-winning economist for whom the award is named. This award is given to the top forecaster over a four year period. Naroff was also named Forecaster of the Year by MSNBC.com in 2006; by the National Association for Business Economics in 2007; by Bloomberg Business News in 2008 and has been recognized as a top forecaster by USA Today.
Annual elections of officers and directors of EMACC will also take place. "There is a bit of irony in the fact that EMACC was created in 1928 at the onset of the depression, to lend support to businesses in our community who were then struggling with the economy. I think our tenure in the community is testament to the effectiveness of our programs and resources." said Peder Hagberg, chairman of the Eastern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce.
The meeting is sponsored by H & R Block; Lindabury, McCormick, Estabrook & Cooper, P.C. Attorneys at Law; Lowy's Moving Service and Transition Enterprises and will also include networking and continuous unlimited hot and cold hors d'eourves, turkey and ham carving stations, salads, gilled vegetables and fresh fruit for $30 per person (member rate.)
