The iR1020 and iR1024A/F/
The new range of devices have the same weight and dimensions as the iR1022 series, meaning they are still compact enough to fit into small offices. This makes them ideal for small businesses or workgroups that are short on office space. The iR1024 series can achieve printing, scanning, copying and sending so businesses just need one device instead of requiring separate devices, each carrying out a different function. These multifunctional devices are also fully networked, meaning that several employees can be connected to the printer at once, reducing costs when compared to having several separate desktop printers.
The four variations of the iR1024 series of multifunctional devices incorporate different functions. The iR1024A is the standard model which is capable of copying, scanning and printing. The iR1024F has all the functions of the iR1024A but also has a faxing function. The iR1024i model can copy and print, but also has an i-send function which allows the user to scan documents in colour via the document feeder and send them directly to email addresses. The iR1024iF incorporates all of the functions of the other multifunctional devices in this series: printing, copying, scanning, faxing and i-send. All of the models in the iR1024 range have a duplex automatic document feeder, can achieve double sided printing as standard and are fully networked. The devices also switch automatically into energy saving mode when not in use and are fully operational again after 5 seconds.
According to Infosource the iR1022A and iR1022iF were Canon's most popular monochrome devices and, with Canon reportedly leading the market for black and white photocopiers, this means that a large number of businesses must have need for this type of multifunctional device. Perhaps, with their increased print speed, the iR1024A, iR1024F, iR1024i and iR1024iF models may prove to be even more popular.
