Evergreen, CO – The Swinden Group’s Weather Risk Management services is advising their clients of the possibility of a winter storm impacting the Virginias up through northern New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania beginning Tuesday afternoon. The main impact from this storm will be sleet and / or freezing rain with as much as a half inch of ice accumulation.
The storm system responsible for this winter weather will form in the Tennessee Valley and move up into the Great Lakes on Tuesday. Warm moist air from the south will override cold air near the surface. Precipitation will fall as rain and then freeze with the main threat being wide spread power outages caused by falling tree limbs and power lines, delayed or cancelled air travel, and dangerous if not impossible ground travel.
