PRLog (Press Release) - Jan 07, 2009 -
One of the similarities of a new job to a new family is learning the culture by spending time, building new relationships, asking questions, understanding the dynamics of the company. The basic professional skills of listening and learning are equally important in a family as in a company.  These and other skills are discussed by Jacquelyn B. Fletcher in her book A Career Girl's Guide to Becoming a Stepmom. Fletcher focuses on organization, goal setting, negotiation, dealing with difficult co workers, delaying gratification for long term success, networking,  problem solving, creative brainstorming and team building.

Blended-Families.com “Ask the Expert” series has invited Jacquelyn Fletcher for an interview on Thursday, January 15, 2009, 9 pm EST.  Jacquelyn will present new concepts by comparing a job to the new family and why the key competencies of listening and learning are comparably essential in a family as in a company

Jacquelyn Fletcher is a stepmother of three children and mother of one. She is a full-time freelance writer who sits on the Board of Directors of the Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis-the largest independent literary center in the nation. Since the launch of A Career Girl’s Guide to Becoming a Stepmom, Jacquelyn has received feedback from stepmoms across the globe who found great comfort in her writing style: a tell-it-like-it-is honesty combined with the empowering energy of a cheerleader.
