Jan. 5, 2009 - PRLog -- Window Film Depot Inc. recently agreed to sponsor an Virtual Energy Forum, a two-day, online-only event scheduled that took place December 10-11, 2008. The Atlanta-based dealer is one of several sponsors who facilitated the forum, which featured many of the usual features associated with trade events, including seminars and an exhibit hall, with one major exception-they were entirely virtual. The event marked the second of its kind, with the first having taken place this past June. Show officials boast that not a single participant consume energy or fuels into transportation for the event, which aims to connect thousands of global business leaders in the areas of energy management, renewable energy, and sustainability. They further report that last June's forum saved more than 12 million pounds of CO2 in the form of saved emissions from airplane travel, hotel, and transportation associated with typical locality-based events. Show officials say the event is designed to enable energy executives to "walk the talk" by providing a low-cost, environmentally-friendly way to connect and share information.

The forums include more than 50 live streaming video presentations that allow attendees from around the globe to interact directly and ask questions of presenters in real-time. Eleven topic-specific tracks present case studies in a variety of sectors including: Carbon Footprint Reduction, Cases in Corporate Sustainability, Green Buildings, Greening the Energy Supply, Energy Monitoring and Controls, Government and Defense, Higher Education, Manufacturing, Municipal, Solar, and Wind Energy. A virtual exhibit hall and virtual booths allow attendees to have live text and video chat with representatives of leading energy management and renewable energy product and service companies. A resource center will contain hundreds of documents outlining the latest trends in energy monitoring, sustainable business, and alternative sources of energy.

"We are honored to have such a distinguish faculty of energy leaders join us for our second Virtual Energy Forum," says Robert Rosenbloom, chief executive officer for The Virtual Energy Forum. "We look forward to adding more speakers in the coming weeks, including senior energy executives and congressional leaders, to inform and share best practices with the 5,000 expected attendees. We are also excited to have a great group of supporting sponsors for this unique event," Rosenbloom adds, "including leading energy product and service companies like Johnson Controls, Delta Controls, Siemens, Conergy, World Energy, Hess, Reliable Controls, NStar, Constellation Energy, UTC Power, Distech Controls, and Window Film Depot."
