Participants learn to speak Arabic and know the cultural sensitivities linked to the Arab way of life.
The free Arabic course conducted at Eton Institute of Languages commenced on 7 September and due to an overwhelming interest a second group was opened on 8 September. In total over 80 people are attending the free Arabic course which will finish at the end of the holy month of Ramadan on 30 September 2008.
The Cultural sensitivity workshop held on 10 September attracted over 50 people to Eton Institute’s brand new auditorium in Dubai Knowledge Village. The workshop proved popular with many well known local and international businesses and entrepreneurs with topics such as Arab culture, background, religion, language and role of Women.
One participant who is new in Dubai commented: “I found the workshop very informative, it increased my knowledge of Arab culture and cleared many misconceptions I had earlier.”
Another participant working as a Manager for an international company commented: “As an expatriate there were many things I wasn’t aware of prior to attending this workshop, I learnt more in the last 3 hours than I learnt in the 3 years I have spent working here.”
The cultural sensitivity workshop has proved to be a huge success with more people interested in attending the next free workshop on the 24 September. Due to the huge popularity and overwhelming response Eton Institute is forced to open another workshop on the 22 September for a small price to recover the cost.
The next cultural sensitivity workshop will be conducted on the 22 September from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm. The entry fee is AED 500/- with traditional Iftar snacks served during the workshop. Interested people are encouraged to book early as there are limited places available.
The free Cultural Sensitivity Workshop on the 24th September is fully booked. The workshop will run from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Participants already registered for these workshops are advised to be on time.
