FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Jan 03, 2009 -
We all recall the recent film ‘A Night at the Museum’ where Ben Stiller’s character starts working as a Security guard in an old museum and discovers that the Museum artifacts come alive when the museum closes.
Well that storyline isn’t far off from a reality. That reality exists in a small urban neighborhood in Brooklyn , NY  named  The Living Torah Museum (www.torahmuseum.com ).  Although this museum in reality does not actually come to life, the rare artifacts it hosts are sure to bring world history and Judean Antiquities to life for those whom are fortunate to visit it.
The Living Torah Museum  currently owns the World’s oldest  recorded Hanukkah Menorah, which is  also known as the special holiday candelabra. Hanukkah celebrates the rededication of the Temple of Jerusalem in 165 BC after the victory of the Maccabees, a Jewish national liberation movement that arose in response to attempts be the Seleucid empire, which stretched from modern day turkey all the way to Pakistan to ban the practice of Judaism. According to the story, the ancient temple’s menorah was supposed to be lit perpetually, but only enough olive oil was found to light it for one night. The oil instead lasted for eight nights which was enough time to prepare a new supply of oil. The event was declared a miracle, and the holiday of Hanukkah was established to celebrate it each year. http://www.David-H-Brooks.com
Founded by Rabbis Shimon Deutsh through the generosity of supporters such as the well known Humanitarian and Philanthropists David H Brooks; the museum has grown into the worlds largest privately held museums specializing in hosting biblical antiquities. According to Hershel Shanks, editor of Biblical Archaeology Review, this is the only museum in the U.S. dedicated solely to biblical archeology.
To date Rabbi Deutsch has managed to put together over 900 artifacts worth over 14 million dollars.
The museum is open to the public and welcomes and encourages schools and groups to schedule a tour. For sponsorship opportunities please visit our website or contact us directly at office.
