Disc Jockeys, Inc., no stranger to the wedding and special events industry, has once again been recognized for his talents, skills and abilities. During the Annual Conference of the National Association of Wedding Professionals, held this year in Miami, Florida, Byrd was awarded the 2008 Industry Service Award. The Industry Service Award is awarded to an individual who contributes, time, talent and skills beyond just performing for weddings to further the industry and those who serve in it in general.
Although Andrew has been providing entertainment services since 1984, his hard work and dedication is really paying off now. Some of his proudest moments of recognition include; being recognized by Modern Bride magazine the past two years as one of the Top 150 DJs in the USA. One of only 2 DJs listed in the state of Georgia. He was also awarded the “Member of the Year” award by the National Association of Wedding Professionals in 2005 for his efforts in South Carolina.
Also this year, the Athens Wedding Professionals presented Byrd with the Roy J.C. Jahn Visionary of the Year award. Byrd says, "This award is very special to me because Roy was so instrumental in starting the Athens Wedding Professionals," an organization to help promote Athens as a wedding destination and serve as a resource for couples looking for reliable businesses in the wedding industry.
