According to PMForum Managing Editor David Pells, “Jouko Vaskimo is a well respected professional leader in Finland, active in both the Finnish national association and the Finland chapter of PMI. He has held project management positions in several large Finnish companies, including Nokia where he helped develop their internal PM methodology. We are happy and honored to have him join our team!”
Based in the Greater Helsinki area, Jouko Vaskimo is Projects Director at Ixonos PLC, a major Finnish IT consultancy. Mr. Vaskimo graduated from Helsinki University of Technology in 1992. Since then he has held project management related assignments at Sinebrychoff, the oldest brewery in Scandinavia;
Mr. Vaskimo holds the IPMA Level C (Project Manager) and Level B (Senior Project Manager) certifications and is an IPMA assessor for Project Management Association Finland (PMAF). He is a member of the PMAF Board of Directors and a founding member of PMI Finland Chapter. He received the PMP certification in 2003. Since October 2007, Jouko has been head of the Finnish delegation for creation of the new ISO Standard 21 500: Project Management: Guide to project management.
