Quizzicle, LLC. , a leader in web-based regulatory training, helps ensure safety for Nation’s Utility companies and electrical infrastructure. On January 8, 2009, Quizzicle releases a suite of Web-based training courses on government mandated Critical Infrastructure Protection Standards.
In 2006, the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) adopted stringent Cyber Security Standards. The standards establish minimum requirements to ensure security and reliability of the bulk electric power system in North America and Canada. The multi-year implementation schedule establishes milestones for compliance by electric entity owners and operators.
As security becomes a concern for electric utility companies, the challenge to educate employees, contractors and vendors on NERC regulations becomes urgent. Quizzicle, working with industry experts, instructional and graphic designers, created customizable training for utility companies to achieve compliance for scheduled 2009 audits.
Peter Sorenson, President of Quizzicle says, "We've been developing courses on NERC standards, intent on delivering courses that are comprehensive, interactive, and with data collection capabilities that surpass mandates. Our courses are important training devices, built to ensure comprehension so employees integrate new routines to their roles, ensuring a secure bulk power system.”
Mr. Sorenson added: “With the possibility of 1M fines per day for non-compliance, companies may find internally developed PowerPoint presentations ineffective educational tools for preparing to meet new mandates. Addressing this issue, we developed affordable training promoting security awareness. We plan to announce strategic partnerships with security and utility companies to help create safe and secure energy infrastructures.”
