Shri N R Prashanth, an exceptional singer, will present a concert with victory as theme for the new year. His captivating voice will be musically supported by Shri B V Ragavendra Rao on violin, Shri Thiruvarur Vaidyanathan on Mrdangam and Shri S. Karthik on Ghatam.
Shri N R Prashanth is outstanding vocalist with exceptional command over carnatic music. The quality of voice and control are his trade mark. With deep and penetrating voice and Bhakti Rasa he is a male version of MSS.
Hailing from Bangalore he imparts his knowledge to hordes of disciples on regular basis. His tour into the music hub of Chennai is limited thus, making him an unfamiliar name among the Madras Music listeners.
It is after an ardent search for the MSS quality of rendering we landed upon NRP as he is known to those who know him.
It will be a divine experience and musically rewarding one to listen to NRP with these top rank accompanists.
NRP holds a Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Technology from the University of Mysore was associated with Dr. Raja Ramanna at The National Institute for Advanced Studies.
NRP is versatile both as a performer and teacher of Carnatic music. He has performed concerts in India and countries like Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and the United Kingdom. He was a faculty at The Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society, Singapore during the years 2001-2007.
NRP had his initial tutelage from Ganakala Bhushana Sri R.K.Padmanabha and was then groomed by Sangeetha Kalacharya late Sri Tittai Krishna Iyengar. He later came under the able guidance of Sangeetha Kala Samragni Smt. Neela Ramgopal.
He was awarded a scholarship by the Dept. of Culture, New Delhi to work on rare compositions of Sri Muthuswamy Dikshithar.
He has won the Kanaka Dasa award and has many recordings to his credit.
Prashanth has performed Eka Raga concerts and has been successful delivering Lecture-Demonstrations on various topics in Music.
