Because of the lower prices for air tickets and cheaper hotel expenses, the prices for domestic travel during the Spring Festival would reduce to a great extent. The prices for a lot of domestic travel products have a decline of more than 10%.
The Spring Festival this year (the Chinese Lunar Spring Festivel is around the end of January 2009 till the beginning of the February) is about half a month earlier than previous year, many travel agencies have begun to launch the Spring Festival tourism products.
The price of domestic travel is primarily influenced by the international economic situation, oil prices and other factors. For example, the international impact of the economic situation makes the number of foreign tourists declined. Quite a number of domestic hotels are beginning to shift their focus to receive domestic travelers and the prices have also declined. On the other hand, the oil prices fell and many domestic flight ticket prices have declined. Take the Hainan tour as an example, price for flight tickets alone declines 160 Yuan RMB, plus the hotel and other reduced spending in the tour, the overall travel prices drop more than 10%.
