Nokia N96 - is it the handset of 2008?

A detailed discussion of the many features and benefits of the Nokia N96 mobile phone, as well as its few flaws. Does the N96 beat the Apple iPhone as the handset of 2008?

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Dec 20, 2008 -
Nokia N96

If in the year 2006 and 2007, the Nokia N95 got the limelight, this year Nokia N96 is surely getting that spot. Nokia is a company that continually makes improvements to cater to the different needs of every user. Included with the N series that it launches, N96 is definitely a close to perfect mobile phone. Most often users will say that it is just like the N95 but a lot better. Of course, itís the higher model so expect enhancements.

A Closer Look with the Specifications

If you want a mobile phone that is more than just a mobile phone, then what you need is the Nokia N96 (http://www.dialtosave.co.uk/mobile/mobile-phones/Nokia/N96/). And since it came from Nokia, then the good brand itself has sold it to millions of people before even glancing on the specifications. Anyway, here are the specifications of N96:
-   Camera with 5 megapixels and LED flash
-   Bluetooth, 802.11b, Wi-Fi, 3G, HSDPA Connectivity
-   Screen resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, 16 million colours display
-   Series 60 Operating system
-   Supports AAC, AAC+, MP3, WMA audio formats
-   Dimensions 103 x 18 x 55 mm, 125 g
-   Internal memory of 16000 MB
-   Email protocols IMAP4, SMTP
-   Networks GSM 850, GSM 1800, GSM 1900, UMTS 2100

The Slider has It All

The chic design of this slider phone makes it saleable for those who want a slim designed mobile phone. The Nokia N96 has a dual-slide design that can be slide forward or backward and can be rotated for a widescreen orientation. The forward slide will give you the T9 numeric keypad while the backward slide will give you the control keys for the music player.

Just another N95 Phone with Slight Improvement

If you previously owned a Nokia N95 (http://www.dialtosave.co.uk/mobile/mobile-phones/Nokia/N9...) mobile phone, probably you would just be disappointed with the N96. It has basically the features that you could find in the previous model. Both phones have the features like Wi-Fi, Carl Zeiss with 5 megapixels camera, HSDPA and the A2CP stereo Bluetooth.

Good thing Nokia has taught of including an internal memory of 16 GB with a microSD expansion. With this feature, it plays par with the iPhone. Another thing is that the built-in DVB-H TV is just amazing since it is capable of receiving signals that makes mobile TV possible.

The Battery Gave It Away

The Nokia N96 mobile phone offers great features which were mostly found with the N95 phone. And since a lot of people love the previous model, it is no wonder why people are still being hooked with the N96 phone. Nokia stands with the user friendly, easy data processing and chic designs which it was known for. And with the great OSS and GPS navigation, Nokia made it possible for very reliable mapping signal using mobile phones.

And who could resist the great camera features of this phone? A LED flash with Carl Zeiss optics would really spell out a great still photo that you would not think is possible with a mobile phone (http://www.dialtosave.co.uk/mobile). Again, the phone is close to being perfect.

What gave it away? A bad battery life. It would not even last you a day, not unless you stop using the Wi-Fi and GPS. A larger capacity for battery would make this phone a perfect one!
