Surrey Personal Trainer Teaches Exercise Professionals The Secrets on How to Keep Fitness Goers Injury Free During Their New Years Fitness Resolutions
Surrey, BC - December 18, 2008 – With injuries in fitness centres on the rise, it is important for exercise professionals to keep gym members injury-free. In a few short weeks citizens of Surrey will be heading to Fleetwood, Newton and Guildford Recreation Centres to start their new year’s fitness resolution. Many of them will have to stop their fitness program due to a weightroom injury. One of the most common joints injured in Surrey gyms, fitness centres and recreation facilities is the shoulder. Injuries occur because members perform exercises with injury promoting techniques, dangerous machine set up and harmful program design. Local shoulder expert, Rick Kaselj, has been invited by the British Columbia chapter of the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiologists (CSEP) on Saturday, December 20, 2008 in Abbotsford, BC to present at the Fraser Valley CSEP One-Day Conference and AGM. Rick will be presenting Returning the Shoulder Back to Optimal Function and Save Your Client's Shoulders. He will be sharing his secrets on how he keeps his clients shoulders injury free.
Returning the Shoulder Back to Optimal Function
When the shoulder is working optimally, it is a beautiful symphony of movement. When the shoulder is not functioning optimally, it is garage band of cracks, pops, pinches and ouches. The challenge for the fitness & rehabilitation professional is to figure out what is going on and the best exercises to return the shoulder back to optimal function. This 90-minute session will highlight what makes up an optimally functioning shoulder and what can move it out of this state.
Save Your Client's Shoulders
More people than ever are committed to an active lifestyle. However, many fit and active people enter Surrey gyms or community centres with previous shoulder injuries. It is important for fitness and rehabilitation professionals to be aware of exercises that can cause shoulder injuries, as well as exercise modification that can lead to optimal shoulder function.
