AquaStar’s VGB Non-Compliant Drain BuyBack Program seeks to remove every unsafe, non-compliant drain cover from inventories from around the country and replace them with safe, compliant AquaStar VGB Series anti-entrapment drain covers. The eco-friendly BuyBack program allows businesses to clear old inventory and restock compliant drains with one simple transaction while ensuring that all products returned will be recycled.
“This is a great way for distributors and retailers to clear out merchandise that they legally can no longer sell and would otherwise throw in the dumpster,” AquaStar co-founder Olaf Mjelde said. “We also want to make sure that every drain installed in the country is up to the new safety standards.”
The VGB Non-Compliant Drain BuyBack Program is intended to help the environment. None of the non-compliant drains collected by AquaStar will be thrown into a dumpster or find their way to a landfill; instead, they will be ground down to the raw materials and used to make other products, reducing waste and cutting back the consumption of new materials.
“The original goal of the VGB Non-Compliant Drain BuyBack Program was to take every unsafe, noncompliant drain cover off the market to ensure the safety of our children,” said Mjelde. “We were excited when we found a way to do our part to help protect the environment as well.”
