Scottish Widows Supports British Heart Foundation Through Protection For Life Policy

Scottish Widows will donate £1 to the British Heart Foundation for every Protection for Life policy taken out in December

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Dec 18, 2008 -
Scottish Widows is also offering two month’s cashback to customers at the end of the
first year for every Protection for Life policy taken out in December

Throughout December, Scottish Widows will be donating one pound to the British
Heart Foundation for every Scottish Widows Protection For Life policy sold. The tie
in compliments Lloyds TSB and Scottish Widows’ two year partnership, launched in
July 2008 when the British Heart Foundation (BHF) became their charity of choice.

All money raised between 2008 and 2010 by the Lloyds TSB Group will be used to
help fund 15 new BHF heart nurses in local communities providing more heart
patients and their families with the vital care and support they need.

Scottish Widows is also giving two month’s cashback to customers at the end of the
first year with every Protection for Life policy purchased throughout December.
Protection For Life can cover a family’s protection needs in one simple and flexible
plan and customers can add and remove policies as their needs change throughout life.

Scottish Widows’ protection market director, Richard Jones says: “We are very
pleased to bolster our two year partnership with the British Heart Foundation (BHF)
through our Protection For Life campaign as well as providing our customers with
this cashback opportunity. With just under half (47 per cent 1) of households relying
on two incomes to run the family home, millions of families are leaving themselves at
risk of being unable to survive financially without adequate protection. If one of the
breadwinners became unable to work as a result of critical illness, death, disability or
due to an accident, many could find themselves and their families in serious difficulty
without the necessary cover. At a time when families are experiencing increasing
financial difficulty, making an early New Year’s resolution to insure their most
important possession – their loved ones, not only gives peace of mind but also a bit of
extra cash back into their pockets.”

Easy to take out and administer, Scottish Widows Protection for Life offers the choice
of Critical Illness Cover, Life Cover, Lifetime Cover and Income Protection all under
one plan.

Its flexibility allows customers to make changes should their circumstances change
for example, marriage, divorce, change of job or having children. Scottish Widows’
Protection for Life plan is available through Lloyds TSB and can offer customers a
cash lump sum, or a regular monthly income to help them and their families cope
when they may need it the most. With only one application each time a new policy is
taken out, and one direct debit for all benefits chosen, the Scottish Widows Protection
for Life Policy offers an attractive and practical plan for life.
