Dec. 17, 2008 - PRLog -- A team of Connecticut video gamers hope to raise money for charity through the live, internet broadcast of a multi-day "Kingdom Hearts Marathon".

During the event, the team will be playing through all three entries in the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise, a series of video games developed as a collaboration between Disney and Square Enix (the creators of the famous Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest video game series). The event, beginning on December 27th, is estimated to last approximately three days during which time they hope to attract as large a crowd of viewers on the internet as possible.

Throughout the event the team will be soliciting donations for Child's Play, a charity organization that donates toys and video games to children in hospitals around the globe, through the team's website, khmarathon.webs.com.

"We're really excited about the event's potential." said Mark Perine, event coordinator, "Gaming is something that all three of us are really passionate about, and we're really glad we were able to find a way to use that passion to help others."
