GAINESVILLE, Fl.- (BUSINESS WIRE) —Gainesville, Fl.-based 463Media, Inc. announced this November that senior producer and chief location scout Chris Willis will be heading up the growing production company’s Florida division.
A Florida State University graduate, former thespian and one-time executive in the pharmaceutical industry, Willis brings passion, knowledge and energy to the position.
“This is a dream come true,” Willis says. “I get to live in a city that’s regarded as one of the best in the country, and I get to work in a creative environment that inspires me every single day.”
As the Florida division’s top dog, Willis is responsible for making the final decision on content for the Excursions, Home Style and Wish List TV shows.
His first priority is Excursions, a travel show that features unique destinations around the world. Excursions currently is in production on a series “Best of” episodes that take viewers inside cities such as Philadelphia, Boston and Toronto, as well as regions such as Florida’s First Coast.
“The ‘Best of’ shows are both challenging and fun,” Willis says. “On the one hand, it’s a difficult task determining the best hotels, restaurants and attractions in a city as large as Boston. On the other hand, when you find a place like the Courtyard Marriot Cambridge, which stands out for so many reasons, it’s very gratifying and makes for excellent TV.”
At the same time, Willis’s associate producers are busy finding the best of the best for Wish List, a show that highlights the coolest gear and gadgets for the home.
“Our tag line is, ‘What’s on Your Wish List?’ and believe me, there’s plenty,” Willis says. “Fitness equipment, iPod stations, toys. Once again, narrowing it down is difficult, but at the same time, it’s fun.”
