Columbus Body Transformation Expert Reveals 4 Holiday Tips To Stay Fit

Prevent that holiday gain that so many busy Americans succumb to during this busy time of the year. Here are Yun’s 4 quick tips to help you keep your body as fat-free as possible this season

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Dec 16, 2008 -
Local Columbus fat loss expert, Jason Yun CSCS, CISSN, is the founder of Yun Fitness Bootcamps in Hilliard and Dublin for men and women. He brings to you his expertise to help you prevent that holiday gain that so many busy Americans succumb to during this busy time of the year.

Here are Yun’s 4 quick tips to help you keep your body as fat-free as possible this season:

1.) Perform at least 1 intense strength training session per week

Studies show it only takes 1 strength training session per week to effectively maintain muscle mass and strength. “It’s a big mistake to drop the workouts completely,” Yun says, “Loss of muscle mass will lower the metabolism, which lowers your ability to burn fat, and increases your chances of adding body fat.”

2.) Try Chunks of Minutes

Your body is not very smart when it comes to counting. It’s not like it has The Count from Sesame Street counting the number of reps you do on a daily basis. Your body doesn’t know if it does 100 pushups or pull-ups in a row, or weather or not it is done over the course of a day. Finding an hour to workout might be hard these days, but finding little chunks of 5 to 20 minutes might be a little more reasonable. Got 5 minutes, bang out some pushups, pull-ups, rows, jumping jacks, or squat thrusts. You’d be surprised at the number of reps you can get up to in a day. Those big numbers will turn into a higher work capacity, better strength, more lean muscle tissue, and more fat burned through out the day.

3.) Machines Suck!

Machines are really what have created an incredible future of being out of shape and overweight. During the holidays try and make it a point not to use them. I don’t mean you can’t drive to the mall or to work, I don’t want you to lose your job. I’m talking about things like elevators, escalators. Use the stairs; those flights upon flights will do your body some extra calorie burning. Stay on your feet as much as possible and resist the temptation to use a robot or machine to do the work for you.

4.) Have some fun out door activity

Have a snowball fight! It’s awesomely fun, and exhausting at the same time. Although you don’t really know you’re exhausted because you are having so much fun. Get outdoors, have a snowball fight, go sledding, skiing, throw the football around or have a pickup game. Fun + exercise makes it that much easier to maintain your weight or even lose some holiday pounds.
