The economy is in shambles right now and the reality is that people are not spending money unless they have to. So I thought well if this headline is true then that marketer is probably on the right track given the times and circumstances we as a nation are facing right now. I reasoned that if someone could really give a product/service away and still get paid that would be a good deal right?
Then I thought, well not necessarily. It would really depend on the product and whether or not there was demand for it. I mean free is free don’t get me wrong, but there also has to be a demand for it or else its just going to be background to a lot of folks. In other words someone would see the product or service and maybe acknowledge it and then move on about their merry day doing whatever it is that they do.
Well, at this point as you can imagine my curiosity was getting the better of me so I just had to find out what in the world this marketer was up to. So I looked into it. I was able to interview this marketer in detail.
Here’s what I found. The product/service turned out to be a free discount prescription Rx card that saves people up to 75% off on prescription medications and it has a lab and imaging benefit attached to it that allows people to save between 40%-70% off on over 1,700 lab diagnostic tests.
So I’m like ok, pretty cool so far. I know the product/service is in demand. There are over 50 million Americans with no healthcare benefits at all and with more and more folks being laid off and losing their jobs that number is growing at a steady pace. Still the question remained how in the world does this guy get paid.
This is good. One has to understand how the pharmacy networks operate to understand how this guy gets paid for giving away a free discount prescription Rx card.
Companies exist for the sole purpose of negotiating discounted rates with the pharmacies. The pharmacies agree to this lower price in hopes to draw more customers to their establishment.
Have you ever noticed that pharmacies never advertise prescription medications?
The pharmacy gets the most bang for its efforts in this way. They don’t advertise and they only give a discount when a customer comes in with a discount card. It’s a sweet deal for the pharmacies and it’s a great deal for the customer and in this case it also benefits the independent rep who gave away the card to the customer. In conclusion of my short investigation I found it to be a really great deal.
The rep has no rejection at all. People are gobbling up the free cards like candy. He can’t give them away fast enough. Here’s some inside tips on how this guy is working this business. He talks to Doctors offices and explains to them that he’s giving away a free prescription card that would help their patients save up to 75% off on prescription medications. He sets an appointment, goes in and explains how it works then leaves a display stand in the doctor’s office for people to grab as many cards as they would like to grab. He repeats this with as many doctors’ offices as he can.
Now how many businesses can you do that with? Tap into the client base of a medical professional?
Businesses are gladly handing out these discount prescription Rx cards to their employees. Small businesses really want to provide for their employees but more often than not it’s just too expensive on them to provide good insurance. There are so many ways to give this card away. It’s limited only to the imagination.
Can you give it away and still get paid? In this case with this business the answer is yes you most certainly can.
