England, UK,-- As an alternative means of managing your business’s data, cloud computing (where software is accessed online, rather than locally) offers a number of benefits. Low cost, low risk, ease of use and performance on demand all make it highly attractive to many businesses, according to business expert Fergus Gloster from salesforce.com. However, despite these benefits, some businesses cling to their out-of-date hardware and remain either wary of or unaware of the cloud computing phenomena.
In a recent business TV show, on leading business television network yourBusinessChannel, Gloster explains the advantages of cloud computing in business. “First, cloud computing removes the complexity of a business’s own hardware, software, or network, which is particularly good news for small businesses”, says the business expert. “Of course, this reduction in complexity leaves more time for businesses to concentrate on more important tasks”, added Gloster.
Another positive aspect to cloud computing is the low cost, says Gloster on the business TV show. “With cloud computing, your business only pays for what you use and there are no hardware or software costs, a distinct advantage over traditional software systems”, according to the business expert. Because it is inherently flexible, cloud computing can grow and shrink in size as required by the business, a feature which means businesses are not required to purchase and sell hardware as they grow.
In the business TV show Gloster places particular emphasis on the fact that using cloud computing reduces businesses’ risk. This is important, especially for small businesses that have less ability to cover costly IT processes. Gloster offers this expert business advice to small businesses: “If you are a small company and you are in some form of business service, it is unlikely you have the expertise to develop your own IT infrastructure. Therefore you acquire risk.” According to Gloster, cloud computing allows businesses to “take the complexity away and get the value.”
