“The bridge loan business is a separate “animal” than all other areas of the business, whether commercial or residential.  One of the primary differences is the lack of governmental regulation.   What this means for the borrower is that it can be treacherous area.  Many borrowers get ripped off.  On the commercial side, many borrowers shell out $15,000 as a “good faith deposit.”  Unfortunately, some lenders really just take the deposit and don’t do anything else on the file.  So we try to educate the borrower on warning signs and what to watch out for when considering bridge loans.”  Says Jeff Rauth President.
