Ridgeview Valley Is Now Connected To The Public Water System

Dec. 11, 2008 - PRLog -- Ridgeview Valley, LLC announces that its residential master planned community, Ridgeview Valley, located in McHenry, MD, is now fully connected to the Garrett County public water supply system.  A valve turning ceremony was conducted in early September to commemorate the connection.  In attendance were Linda Lindsey of the Garrett County Department of Public Utilities, Peter Versteegen a partner in Ridgeview Valley, Jeff Gosnell also a partner in Ridgeview Valley and Paula Thomas the Homeowners Association Manager and Sales Associate for Ridgeview Valley.
    McHenry, a two to three hour drive from metropolitan areas such as Washington, D.C., Baltimore, MD and Pittsburgh, PA, also the location of the 3,900 acre Deep Creek Lake, the 132 acres of skiable terrain at Wisp Resort, and the 1,600 ft long Adventure Sports Center International whitewater re-circulating course.  Ridgeview Valley is less than a mile off Rt. 219 in the heart of McHenry, MD.  
   The water connection is part of a larger plan to provide the local McHenry area with additional potable water.  The current public water supply system is severely stressed during the major holidays when thousands of visitors descend upon McHenry to enjoy the grandeur of the area and the many outdoor recreational activities.  To help ease the strain of the existing system, Ridgeview Valley has donated to the County, land for new water wells, a 500,000 gallon water storage tank, the land for the location of the tank, and an easement to install the water lines in order to complete the system and to ensure that the McHenry area is supplied with sufficient clean drinking water.  Both parties benefit greatly from this arrangement, the County is able to provide ample water to the McHenry area, and Ridgeview Valley is able to supply a reliable source of public water to all of its existing and prospective owners.  The water well is in place, portions of the water line to the tank have been installed, and  the tank and the remaining water lines are currently under construction and are scheduled for completion this year.
