TELES, the Berlin based NGN vendor, completed rigorous testing at the Global MultiService Forum Interoperability (GMI 2008) event. Declared the biggest ever, this year’s GMI event was attended by leading vendors from across the globe to test their products in a comprehensive series of demanding ‘real world’ test situations with the main aim of promoting worldwide interoperability, compatibility, and standardization.
Attending the event, TELES CTO Frank Paetsch exclaimed: ‘Altogether, the MultiService Forum has been another great opportunity for TELES to prove to a global audience that our products are of the highest standards of performance and interoperability. It also provided us with an ideal environment to work together with other major vendors in helping to establish industry standards and open architecture. This will bring enormous benefits to carriers worldwide.’
Interoperability testing was conducted initially within labs based at five host sites (Verizon, NCS and UNH-IOL in the U.S., BT/Vodafone in Europe, and China Mobile in Asia), and then between the labs for each of six test scenarios, with each scenario comprising a multitude of test cases.
TELES successfully tested the interoperability of several of its NGN components in the BT/Vodafone environment in the UK. Products tested included a Media Gateway Controller (MGC Compact), Signaling Gateway, Announcement Server, and a Media Gateway, covering several functions of the ETSI TISPAN communications model.
