Want to get a solid referral for a good chiropractor, mortgage broker, or photographer in West Los Angeles? Up until 10 years ago, most of us just opened the yellow pages and figured whoever had the biggest or the best ad was probably a good bet. But the various yellow pages delivered to our front porches are going the way of the afternoon newspaper. I don't know a single friend who uses them to find products or services.
Into the void has popped dozens of options. Yahoo Groups, Local Search Engines like Yelp and City Search, and free newspapers and magazines at your local coffee shop. For business professional, the chamber of commerce and service clubs are places to make friends, do good work, and make contacts, but the hot way to create lots of leads is business networking groups.
In Santa Monica, one such group is LeTip Santa Monica Breakfast club. They meet each Wednesday at the Best Western at Santa Monica Blvd and 19th St. Starting at 7:00 a.m. the members tell about their businesses and how to best refer them to others in their sphere of influence. Then over a great breakfast prepared by IHOP, the pass tips to one another. A tip is a qualified lead from a freind or associate who is expecting a call from the LeTip member.
Membership is open to member of any profession, but is limited to one person from each business classification (e.g. only one printer or florist, or personal injury attorney.) Members can be from anywhere on the Westside. There is no requirement that their business be in Santa Monica
