As we end the year with doom and gloom the last thing one would expect is someone to set up a business, let alone one in recruitment.
The inspiration for this move came from seeing the story behind Dragons Den’s James Caan. The James Caan story of how he set up his recruitment business from a small office in a cupboard into becoming one of the Dragons, gave a young entrepreneur the belief that the idea he had had for the recruitment industry was the right one.
Emmanuel Ogol a 29 year old from London, believed like James that ‘image is everything‘. Having worked as a recruitment officer he knows the frustrations associated with reading hundreds of CVs and the difficulty in identifying the right candidate from just a written CV.
Emmanuel’s idea was to offer a service which would revolutionise the recruitment process. He saw that video profiling had been introduced by one or two companies but had been done poorly using mobile phones or web cams. Just like the Dragons he knew that to succeed he had to provide the very best service for both candidates and recruiters. He discovered a well established video production company (VideoTile - www.videotile.co.uk)
Recent weeks have seen reports that web based recruitment companies have recorded record registrations of CV’s. This has also be the case for JobPlant, having been inundated with thousands of registrations. The site does not go live until the 1st January 2009. Emmanuel believes his solution is the right one.
Will Emmanuel end up in the Den - following in the footsteps of James Caan? Only time will tell.
Video profiling:
Video Profiles enables candidates to tell a potential employer much more about themselves than is possible on just a well structured written CV. Recruiters can see how a candidate communicates, how they present themselves, how they interact and it allows their personality to shine through. Let's face it, we know when we meet someone if they are the person we'd like to work with. A Video Profile is that first meeting with a potential employer.
You can contact either ourselves or Emmanuel for further comment on this exciting new project.
