Santa Claus has apparently been compelled to make cutbacks this Christmas because of the tough economic times. Rumors abound that Santa has retired Rudolph and his team of reindeer. In an exclusive interview, Santa is supposed to have said that it was a difficult choice between retiring the reindeer or giving less holiday gifts this year.
In an interview given from his exclusive retirement resort, Rudolph has claimed to be extremely happy with his retirement and rather relieved that he and his fellow reindeer don't have to make the somewhat strenuous trip this year, especially at their age.
Other reports seem to be presenting a different version of events, saying that Santa has finally given into temptation and procured himself a gleaming new red Zipfy mini luge to take him on his Christmas eve trip round the world.
Secret photographs taken in Lapland seem to confirm this view. Apparently the photos show a gleeful Santa enjoying himself to the hilt, while practising on his Zipfy in preparation for his upcoming trip around the world. One photo is thought to show Santa in mid-air on his Zipfy during a rather spectacular jump.
On a side note, retailers throughout North America and Europe report that Santa's latest sled has started a new craze, with Zipfys flying off the shelves like hot cakes.
Gift expert Jessica Leonard, who has reviewed the Zipfy mini luge on her blog 'Zipfy Freestyle Unlimited' at http://zipfy.blogspot.com, explained that "The Zipfy is an ideal Christmas gift idea because it promotes an active, family based, outdoor lifestyle, unlike common presents such as video games, which encourage hours of inactivity indoors".
