Surrey Personal Trainer, Rick Kaselj, Educates Fitness Professionals on How to Find and Fix Painful Muscular Imbalances in the Trunk & Spine

Surrey, BC – Wednesday, December 10, 2008 – Whether you are an athlete, fitness enthusiast, or someone in good health, efficient joint motion of the trunk and spine  is essential for a happy and healthy life.  As a result of chronic sitting, inactivity, injury or excessive driving, some people develop painful muscular imbalances in the trunk and spine.  The hips, back and mid-back are the most common areas in the trunk and spine where muscular imbalances occur.  A muscular imbalance occurs when muscles shorten due to awkward posture, inactivity or injury.  This shortening decreases the efficiency of trunk and spine movements, increasing one’s risk of injury and often leading to painful hip, back and mid-back muscles.  MAT (Muscle Activation Techniques) is a systematic approach to identifying and treating muscular imbalances that lead to inefficient function, pain and injury.  This weekend, Rick Kaselj, a local Personal Trainer, is hosting the MAT course to educate personal trainers and Registered Kinesiologists from Seattle, Vancouver, Surrey, Abbotsford and Langley on how to assess muscular imbalance and how to use MAT to eliminate them.
