Neatness and cleanness program
Stress is being given over neatness and cleanness. Under ‘PRAKALP’ low-cost
latrines are being built by the organization in socially backward and poor area
especially for the people who are below poverty line to make place hygienic in all respect.
Strategy behind the project
One team of Coordinators and motivators has been formed for this
purpose. One motivator is assigned for a village to motivate villagers to make and
use toilet. Under Panchayat Coordinators an entire Panchayat comes. His work is to
give help and support to motivators. Five to six Panchyats are under one cluster
coordinator. His work is to give advice and proper direction to Panchyat
Coordinators and motivators.
News Flash
Based upon our performance record in Koderma, this year we have been
selected for the same project in Dumka District. We are happy to announce
that in such a small time span we have started working in two districts.
Koderma Mirror
We are working in the ten Panchyats in Koderma District. Presently we are
focusing only over the five Panchyats. Name of the ten Panchyats along with their
corresponding Panchyat Coordinators names and villages where we worked and are
working are shown below.
Dumka Mirror
We are working in the five Panchyats in Dumka District. Five Panchyats
along with their corresponding Panchyat Coordinators are shown below. Our branch
office is in the Gadhi Korayia Panchyat. We are getting huge support and demand
from the local resident of these panchyats.
Remand Home
In simple and straight words Remand Home is nothing but a prison for the
children having ages below 18 years. But unlike prison here children get right
environment and approach to change themselves in the initial stages of life so that
at latter stage they can compete with other normal people.
Due to bad company and bad environment children indulge in wrong doing like
pick-pocketing, robbery etc. Once they caught raid handed they put in the Remand
Home.
In India Remand Homes are run by government organizations. But Jharkhand is
the second state after Delhi where Remand Home will be completely handled by
N.G.O under the guidelines and supervision of State Government. We are happy to
announce that we have been selected for this project to run this in Koderma
district of Jharkhand state.
What would be our strategy?
We all know that reason for all bad cause is lack of education and knowledge. So,
our mission is to educate them. These children indulge in bad activities due to lack
of education. The reasons may be anything like
Uneducated parents – Parents are uneducated and hence they don’t know the
importance of studies in life. They give same lesson to their children.
Poverty – Due to poverty parents are not capable to hold entire family on
shoulder. They even force their children to work for them. On not getting any work
they join some wrong group and start business in the form of kidnapping, forcefully
collecting money from shopkeepers, stealing etc.
No school in locality – Lack of school in the locality deviate children from the
study and right path.
How we would achieve it?
We will make this Remand Home a complete school. Here children will learn lot of
things apart from studies. We will try to change their personality by conducting
personality development class. We will try to change their view about the life
they think and observe.
How we will create interest towards studies?
We will never force them to open book and study. We will generate interest
towards it in different manners like
By celebrating festivals in different occasions and teaching the importance
of it. Like Gandhi Jyanti, Independence Day, republic day.
By organizing functions and play. Like we will split children into groups and
assigning one role to each group.
By awarding talented children.
By organizing singing and dance competition.
By practically involving them in gardening and then telling the importance of
trees and plants.
By watching educational movies and TV channels.
By playing mind wash indoor games (like Ludo, Chess, carom board etc.) and
outdoor games.
What about the basic studies?
Teachers will be employed to teach basic subjects regularly. Proper planning and
effort will be made so that children get maximum benefit. They should at least
learn reading and writing technique, able to recognize English and Hindi letters
properly. Notebook, pen and books related to subject will be provided. Small
library having books on moral stories, freedom fighters etc will be kept here.
How activities will be monitored?
We will monitor the activities very closely. We will do inquiry at any time. This will
be done to check whether all things are on the track or not. Educator is teaching
or passing time. We will try to frame new strategy and policy if the current
strategy would not function smoothly.
What about health related problems?
We will keep one doctor on part time basis. He will visit the campus regularly and in
emergency. To look and feel, fresh and fit daily Yoga class will be conducted early
in the morning. Daily bath will be compulsory.
How would be the food management?
Maid/servant will prepare breakfast/lunch/
special occasion special food will be served. Sweeper will clean bathrooms and
toilets twice a day.
Security?
24*7 special guards will provide the security. These will carry weapons. In
emergency police will guard the campus.
Aganwari Training Center
We can visualize our nation after 20 years by giving proper care to child
before 20 years because we know country’s growth depends over child
development. In child context the word Care has lot of relevant meanings.
Aganwari Training Center, is giving proper training and right approach to women so
that these trainees will take care of children below 7 years.
After years of struggling we got this project. We will start the training
center in few months. Training will be given to both instructors (Sevika) and
helpers (Sahaika).After training instructor will open its own center and helper will
work under her.
Development of Main Streaming Child Labor
We are getting support from MNGO, Deoghar to start evening class for the child
labors.
Our survey
As per our survey child labors are the victims of various Trades. They
are struggling to survive. Just for the small income they do all sort of jobs. As
families are below poverty line they cannot afford their two time meals if all the
family members including their small children wont do work.
After seeing this worst condition, we have planned to educate them in
their off hour. That is learn while earn. We will not force them to leave work and
study. As, they need money for their families. We will provide basic elementary
education to them in groups when they are free from work.
Our Objectives behind the project
Total eradication of illiteracy in children who are employed as labor in different
trades.
As basic and primary education is very important in day today life our motto
behind this project is to make them literate.
Learn while earn.
Our objective is to motivate them towards basic study without loosing their job.
As they need money for their family.
Motivate them towards study.
If children started taking interest in study they may leave their job and their
part time study may become full time.
