Those were the words expressed by Mr. Daniel Loi and his wife, Ms. Annie Chiong from Sibu, Sarawak and Sandakan respectively. They held their wedding reception at the newly opened 1Borneo Ballroom recently in an opulent yet regal ceremony.
Daniel, an entrepreneur by profession and Annie, a bank officer met 2 years ago at church where both of them are devout Methodists. Both of them had the time of their lives flying high above the Tunku Abdul Rahman Islands and the idyllic Kota Kinabalu’s west coast in a romantic helicopter ride.

“We didn’t expect the view to be so fantastic!” said the couple excitedly. “This is a first time for me on a helicopter and I will definitely recommend this to our friends. It was definitely a wonderful adventure!” said Annie.
The newlyweds were impressed by the eye on details and impeccable service provided by the 1Borneo Ballroom’s personnel before and after the reception. “The most memorable moment during the reception is the cake cutting ceremony. Both of us were elevated and had to cut the top of part of our 9-tier wedding cake”, shares Annie. “Which is another first for both of us”, Daniel added.
According to 1Borneo’s Public Relations Manager, Chris Ho, 1Borneo Ballroom has staged a number of distinguished events such as the Sabah International Expo, 11th Sabah Hospitality Fiesta, 8th Sabah Open Dancesport Championship and 21st Federation of Asian Photographic Art (FAPA) Congress attended by the likes of Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Head of States, international delegates and many more in less than three months since its opening.
