Artist Tara Reed, exhibiting in booth #2624 in the License & Design section, got her start designing in the scrapbooking industry in 2001. She started as a Creative Alliance Partner with EK Success, followed by two years as a contributing editor for Simple Scrapbooks™ Magazine where she wrote, designed and taught classes in scrapbooking. (You might remember her as Tara Cowper.)
But in 2004, Tara changed her name and changed her focus.
On the heels of a divorce, she chose to focus on a broader licensing program, building her business one satisfied client at a time. Tara Reed Designs has worked with more than 28 manufacturers and has learned what it takes to form a successful artist / manufacturer partnership.
“I understand that my art is used to sell a product. By staying flexible and listening to the needs of my clients, always working ahead of deadlines and even working to one-day deadlines at times, I have helped companies create successful product lines.” explains Reed. “But it is a partnership, both parties must work together to meet the needs of the retailer and consumer. Understanding the business side of things makes for a profitable relationship.”
Tara Reed’s roots in the craft industry show in her style of designing collections of icons, borders and repeat patterns. With a strong line of fabric and rubber stamps under her belt, Reed is looking for new partnerships and licenses in the craft and hobby arena.
With a broad portfolio of more than 150 themed collections ready to license, Reed will be meeting to discuss future deals. (Booth #2624) Tara has a degree in marketing, an entrepreneurial spirit, and extensive technical capabilities. These skills, combined with speed and accuracy, make all her business partners smile.
