The association with Energia Los Amaneceres brings over 2,000 acres of natural tropical savanna to the cooperative that will be utilized for both educational purposes and as a working farm for the production and creation of biodiesel. “This year we hope to work in tandem with the local farmers and ranchers to provide the knowledge, employment and the wherewithal for them to enter into sustainable green ventures,” says Kenneth Susman, Director of Energia Los Amaneceres. “Ultimately, we will be working on an international level to increase both the awareness and production of green energy.”
As stewards of the land, Energia Los Amaneceres is putting into place sustainable farming practices through the use of green technologies in an attempt to reduce its carbon footprint while increasing the production of renewable fuels. Presently Energia Los Amaneceres is also developing a cohesive plan to implement the best sustainable planting practices for these types of tropical soils through their endeavor with local and international agricultural scientists and research institutions.
